by Stephanus ini know what it is to be popular.
well, to be totally honest, i know what it is to be unpopular, and i know that it feels really bad.

Stephanus:
What is it that compels you to spend so much time on this board when you aren't or ever were a JW? (If I read you right).
Just curious.

Ray Franz Books Left People With No Where To Go?
by drahcir yarrum insomeone reported in another thread that ray franz has grown concerned that his books have not helped those who have read them because it left them with nowhere to go.
i'm reminded of a phrase that i heard repeatedly during my 30 years as a watchtower toady.
"if this isn't the truth, then there is no truth".

I feel great respect for the man and his utilizing his unique expierences to inform us of the reality of the org.
I, for myself, feel gratitude, and, dare I say, some affection for a great old man.
Thanks Ray!!!!!!

From House to House, From Door to Door....
by individuals wife ini was in the town this morning and saw a little cluster of jws leaving the kingdom hall, clutching their ministry bags, eager to go out into the field service.... well, maybe eager isnt quite the right word.... anyway, i thought to myself - how many people will they convert today?
one, two, a whole family?
the more obvious answer is none at all.

Good point name withheld. The book I read about sign of the last days really opened my eyes. The 14century should have been the end!!! Everybody was dying, dying, dying. I remember being stunned when seeing the population graph of humanity and seeing that like 300 yrs ago there was hardly anymore people on earth then Jesus day because of all the things that killed people over and over. 200 000 villages in Germany with everyone dead on account of the plague, etc...I'm looking forward to telling a pioneer how I'm doing when they ask because I feel so priviledged to live in the century, the most beautiful in human history with proportionately so much less problems! That is the TRUTH! Can you handle it?

When is sex acceptable
by stephenw20 incan anyone comment on this.
it appears that in our universe we have differing rules pertaining to sex being acceptable or not.. when you married , you are suppose to only have sex with your spouse.. if you are not married or have never been in a committed realtionship, it seems at a certain stage of ones life, it is either understandable or acceptable to just have or maintain a relationship that has nothing to do with anything but sex, or the closeness of another human being.. perhaps there were failed relationships that someone does not want to indulge in again , but still want to feel close to another person for a limited amount of time.. i am finding this to be acceptable not just among males but females as well in the 30-40 age range.
we humans are a strange breed.. comments are appreciated.. ps i am quite familiar with the biblical texts... i would rather not go there on this thread/

Questions for JWs

as i understand it, if armageddon came tomorrow, those that never heard the truth, in such places as india or china would either live through armageddon or die and be resurrected.

We'll I'm not trying to be a prick but I've heard that S.H.I.T. one before years ago and am convinced that this is one example of JW Urban Legends.
An embarrising moment for me was when I was a teenager and my little twin sisters were about 2yrs old sitting in the front row at the public talk. I like so many was living a bit of a double life. Anyway, one sister dropped a book during the meeting and said loudly with so much exasperation..."Ah! F***!". Many heard, even the speaker paused to look at our christian family. My mom gave me the filthiest look I'd ever seen in my life!
